As I was thinking about my brand and what I wanted it to be and to become, I wanted to make sure it was a reflection of ME. I wanted people to look at it and think "Yeah, that's Bethany alright." So to help me get going I asked a few friends to pick a few words that describe me.
Happy. Bright. Outgoing. Adventurous. Smart. Unique.
Personally I think those are some great words to describe a person and are exactly the kinds of traits I want to show off in my brand. So let me break my thought process down for you. I'm not sure I consciously thought all of these things through, but it happened.
Happy and bright obviously means yellow. And not canary yellow or non-gendered baby shower yellow but a bright and happy yellow.
Outgoing and adventurous. I needed it to be bold. Nothing girly or scripty (exactly the opposite of my last blog). Something solid, fun, and BOLD.
Smart. Simple and clean. Sophisticated even. Gold is sophisticated. Gold is classy.
Unique. This is a tough one. How do you embody unique? Don't make it look like another brand? Well. That is a given. And in the end, if I'm reflecting everything else about me, I will be unique.
So there you have it. My brand's thought process. Nothing spectacular. I didn't brainstorm a ton or draw loads of sketches. I just thought about it, created it, touched it up, liked it, kept it. In fact, this inspiration board was done after the fact; to keep me inspired and in the direction of my brand. I think the quick and simple ideas are they best. They come to you when you need them and end up fitting perfectly!
