Today is our first wedding anniversary! Legit, huh. If you weren't aware, I'm crazy about my smokin' hot husband and it is wonderful to have a day set aside each year to celebrate us. It's like a birthday for couples! Wait, that's exactly what it is. Anyways, so all weekend we're ignoring the world and spending a lot of time together, eating great food, listening to our wedding music, and whispering sweet nothings in each other's ears.
Our wedding date is a palindrome. 2102012. And backwards is 2102012.
And though this blog is about design/creative entrepreneurship, I feel like telling you about me and my husband today. Let's be honest, we all want to know the person behind the blog, so here ya go! Here are some fun facts so you can get to know me, Josh, and our lives a little bit more.
I wrote Josh letters just about every day for seven months. And he wrote about every few days (he had much less time to write than I did). No calls. No texts. Separated by 600 miles. Just letters. If you're looking for the perfect way to start a relationship, go with letter-writing. You learn so much about a person from letters and it is just so romantic!
We knew we were getting married before we even dated. We just KNEW and it was glorious and we were completely comfortable talking about wedding plans on the first date. True story.
We lied to each other when we were first dating. I thought he liked Nascar so I told him I did too. Huge lie. Turns out he doesn't even like Nascar. What a wasted lie! He found out I liked Snow Patrol so he told me he loved them. Pretty sure the only songs he vaguely knew by Snow Patrol were the ones they overplayed on the radio. But as far as we remember, those are the only lies we told. We just wanted to impress each other! Is that so wrong?
We moved our wedding date just so we could be a married couple for Valentine's Day. I had never had a valentine on Valentine's day before so not only did I want a valentine for the first time in my life, I wanted to be married to my valentine. So instead of the end of February, we moved our wedding date to four days before the great day of love.
Our wedding date is a palindrome. 2102012. And backwards is 2102012.
Our wedding dinner was at Panda Express. After the ceremony and loads of pictures, we were so hungry but wanted to get to our hotel so we took a quick stop at Panda Express down the street from our hotel. And it totally hit the spot. Now we mention that evening every time we go get some cheap to-go chinese food.
We have the same size torso. One day we were laying down next to each other and realized that the length of our torsos are the same size. He just has incredibly long legs and I have incredibly short legs. Hence the 9 inch difference.
We like cinematic adventures. A lot. We go to the movies. A lot. Like how we saw The Dark Knight rises four times in theaters. Then after seeing movies we have deep discussions where we analyze every aspect of the film. We have a whole lot of DVDs and buy new ones all the time. And we like movie theater popcorn a lot so that's a plus.
Welp. There are a few fun facts for you! I'm so happy to be celebrating us and our wedding this weekend, especially in this love month of February. I hope you all are getting prepared for Valentines Day when you can show those you love just how much you love them (but that should be every day, right?)

Haha, I love that you know that you have the same length of torsos, I think that's my favorite part! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary!! I think the Panda Express wedding dinner story is an awesome one--that's my husband's favorite restaurant, he definitely could have gone for that!
